Are you a reluctant leader?
Are you a reluctant leader?
“Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” – Exodus 4:12 NKJV.
Contrary to popular teaching, reluctance in leadership has a special place in the Bible.
God says to Moses that He will be with his mouth and teach him what to say. Not because Moses had it all together, but because the LORD was with him.
Reluctance can begin in humility, but if it remains unmoved by the word of the LORD, it can become refusal. Where we disobey the LORD, scripture says the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses.
Jeremiah 1:7-8 NKJV.
Do not allow your limits to define the command of Heaven. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God.
The world calls us to withdraw, to hold fast to the factions and lines drawn up to control what is ordained by God, while God calls you forward into His calling, no matter the cost.
Isaiah 6:8 NKJV.
Who is entitled to stop what God has commanded to move forward in His name?
He is the author and finisher of our faith. Our role is not to control what God is doing, but to steward His people into intimacy with Him.
